Don't Miss April Seminars with Dr. Jim Fleming

Dr. James Fleming, Director of Biblical Resources Study Center in Jerusalem, Israel, again brings his expertise in Biblical studies to Lake Junaluska for another series of “Experiencing the World of the Bible”. This spring’s seminars include “The Teaching Methods of Jesus” and “Pentecost and Beyond”.

Teaching Methods of Jesus—April 4-6

Knowledge, understanding, and attitudes are the three basic levels of learning. Knowledge requires new information. Understanding is gained by questions, answers, and discussion. New experiences lead to new attitudes. This course will examine Jesus’ use of these three types of learning, and how He used questions and parables in his teaching, how He corrected His disciples when they misunderstood, and how He helped the disciples work through changing attitudes. The importance of how these emphases are still used by the Holy Spirit/Spirit of Christ today will be discussed as well.

Pentecost and Beyond—April 6-8

This course will look at the beginnings of the early church—problems within and without and how it grew beyond its original boundaries. The Book of Acts gives both a geographical and theological framework to guide this examination.

Program fee for either one of these sessions is $155 per person. Program fee for both sessions is $247. Housing is available at Lake Junaluska Conference Center; call Reservations at 1-800-222-4930 for rates and other housing information.
